The fact that THEY didn%26#039;t have insurance doesn%26#039;t absolve you of your action.

As you said your at fault so you are liable. Just be happy if they just ask for car damages instead of medical too.

Good Luck....

do you know what a red light means? you ran it so yes you are at fault.
Reply:Yes it is your fault and you are liable.................UJN
Reply:your still at fault although they may not make much of an issue of it since they had no ins. or license.
Reply:what makes you think you WOULDN%26#039;T be liable for the accident? example: i don%26#039;t pay my electricity bill. my neighbor tries to patch into my electric box and steal my electricty bypassing the shut-off switch they have in place for me, as a result he gets caught. is it my fault my neighbor got caught?
Reply:My first question to you is -%26gt; Are you sure the light was red for you? Were there any witnesses? If there were no witnesses, then it%26#039;s your word against the other driver%26#039;s word. If you told your insurance company that you had a yellow or green light, then the other party might have ran the red. Being that the other party did not have insurance, your credibility would be a lot higher than him/her. Again, please think REALLY hard and try to remember if your light was really red or was green/yellow? I hope you haven%26#039;t given an official statement to your insurance company yet until you had time to clear your head and realize exactly what color your light was. Good luck!
