Can you go to court and possibly go to traffic school? Around here if it%26#039;s your first ticket you can do that. You still have to pay a fee, but it doesn%26#039;t show up on your record. Check into that. Otherwise, you won%26#039;t have to tell your insurance company until it%26#039;s up for renewal and they ask you about it. If they don%26#039;t ask you, they will probably pull your record. Then if it is on there (sometimes it can take months to show up) they will raise your rates. A ticket only stays on your record for 3 years where I live, so after that your rates go back down. Check with your state on that.

My daughter got a speeding ticket a couple of years ago, but she was under 18. It was her first ticket, and she was required to go to court since she was a minor. They retired the ticket and made her pay a fee, but it was never on her record. She hasn%26#039;t gotten once since then.

Get in front of that judge and request traffic school. If you don%26#039;t go, it%26#039;s going to cost you a bundle. The first 3 years of a new drivers insurance is the highest, this just gives it the icing on the cake.
Reply:It usually doesn%26#039;t immediately impact your insurance rates. USAA won%26#039;t find out for a while at least, and certainly not until you renew. Then, they may not know unless you call them and discuss it.

As the others have mentioned, make sure you do defensive driving. You can often take the course online...but make sure you have 6 hours to do it. They are pretty good at making sure you%26#039;re attending the instruction throughout.
