Car accident..?

I had an car accident today and the 1 of the passenger door is damaged. And the person in the car didn%26#039;t stop but went straight away.

Do you lot think that the insurance will give me money or repair the car.
Car accident..?
no you need a crime number of the police, also they may think your telling porkies, arnt you.
Car accident..?
I reckon they%26#039;d repair the car. Not entirely sure though!
Reply:You may have to pay the excess.
Reply:First you need to report the incident to the police because failing to stop after an accident is a crime.

Then you put in an insurance claim. The assessor will decide if a rpair is economical, if not the car will be written off.
Reply:They are required to give you the money if that%26#039;s what you want. It is your choice, not theirs. If you have a $500 deductible and the damage is estimated at $1,000, they will only give you $500.
Reply:if you are insured fully comp. they will pay out but you will lose your no-claims bonus . weigh up which is more cost-effective
Reply:you will need to contact the police, or rather u shouldve as soon as it happened, you shouldve got description of the other car involved even the colour. then get crime number and contact insurance company. if they write your car off it would need to be more severe damage than a door unless its an old car and it would cost more to repair than writing it off but this process takes weeks and u will get what the car is worth not what it is insured for. or u will have to pay excess and get it repaired.....

of course there may always be the thing that your in the poo and trying to get out of it????????????
Reply:hi mate glad no one got hurt get a crime number off police you may only have to pay excess good luck
Reply:did you get their details or did they literally carry on without stopping, l had a similar experience where as my daughter opened the door and took a ladies mirror off her car , it scratched all her door but did no damage to my car at all, we swapped details and l thought l was for the high jump, she never contacted me and neither did her insurance company. l think that she thought that she was to close to my car and the fault was with her. l think its a bit of a dodgy area, and to be honest l would have protested if it had gone further and she tried to blame me,as in my eyes the other driver should be ready to stop, or be at a safe distance just in case the invertible happens. good luck with your case hope everything turns out right for you
Reply:I hope you got some details of the car that hit you. You are the victim of a hit and run which is a felony crime. Anytime someone hits you and does not stop, it is their fault, no questions. I just hope you got info about the car that hit you and called the police. Your insurance should pay for the damage, but they may also try to find the person who hit you by hiring a privite investigator.
Reply:HELLO

CONTACT THE POLICE AND REPORT THE OTHER PERSON FOR FAILING TO STOP AT THE SCENE OF AN ACCIDENT AND AT THE SAME TIME GET A CRIME REPORT NUMBER

TAKE THE CAR TO AT LEAST 2 GARAGES AND GET WRITTEN QUOTES (A QUOTE CAN ONLY BE ALTERED BY UP TO 10%)

AN ESTIMATE IS NOT WORTH THE PAPER IT%26#039;S WRITTEN ON AS THEY CAN ALTER WITHOUT LIMIT

IF THE OTHER CAR IS NOT TRACED AND YOU HAVE FULL COMP INSURANCE TAKE CRIME REPORT NUMBER AND BOTH QUOTES TO YOUR INSURANCE.

IF YOU HAVE TO CLAIM ON YOUR INSURANCE THEY WILL PAY THE REPAIR BILL MINUS YOUR EXCESS

IF THE OTHER CAR IS TRACED YOU STILL NEED TO CONTACT YOUR INSURANCE COMP WHO SHOULD THEN TAKE OVER,

ONLY IF YOUR SON OPENED THE DOOR AND SHE DROVE INTO IT THEN HER INSURANCE MAY PUSH FOR TIP FOR TAP ie YOU BOTH CLAIM OFF YOUR OWN INSURANCE.

MAIN PROBLEM IS IF YOU ONLY HAVE THIRD PARTY FIRE AND THEFT AND THE OTHER PERSON CANNOT BE FOUND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CLAIM. THE SAME IF YOU END UP TIP FOR TAP

SHE WILL BE PROCECUTED BY THE POLICE FOR LEAVING THE SGCENE OF AN ACCIDENT

IF YOU HAVE DIGITAL CAMERA TAKE PHOTOS OF ALL DAMAGE FROM ALL ANGLES
Reply:I%26#039;m not an expert on this, but I would suggest you take a tour here, there are expert%26#039;s tips over there.http://car-insurance.easyideas4u.info/ca...
