Do I need to declare 3 points when renewing car insurance with the same company?

I have three points on my license and have had them for over a year. Last year when it came to renewal time they sent a quote and never asked me so I just accepted. If I am in a major crash and was to kill someone or cause major injury or something (hopefully I won%26#039;t but you never know), would the insurance still pay out? It%26#039;s now time to renew again.... should I let them know now or not bother?
Do I need to declare 3 points when renewing car insurance with the same company?
You need to tell them, it is a material fact.

Failure to disclose a material fact could void your insurance.

Driving without valid insurance can put you in a lot of trouble.
Do I need to declare 3 points when renewing car insurance with the same company?
In short the answer is yes, you do need to declare them for your insurance to be valid.

This falls under a legal requirement that says it is your responsibility (not that of your insurers) to declare any unspent driving convictions. (Most convivitions are spent after a period of 4 years)

This means that even if your insurer does not ask about convicitons you are guilty of concealment if you do not declare them.

Countless people do not declare driving convictions to their insurers, what you need to ask yourself is it really worth the risk of driving with unvaild insurance for the sake of saving a few extra pounds on you premium?
Reply:yea you got to tell them
Reply:Your insurance company will receive a report from your state DMV, so no worries. They can%26#039;t drop you for not revealing something like that... (they can drop you for the actual ticket that got you those 3 points) now if you lied outright and said that you didn%26#039;t have anything, that%26#039;s insurance fraud and when you commit it you let your insurance company off the hook for covering you in an accident.
Reply:You don%26#039;t need to tell them, they already know about it.

Cherished Number Plate History?

Is there a way of tracing the history of a cherished number plate? I have recieved one as a gift and am interested in its past, especially the first vehicle it was registered to.

Cheers
Cherished Number Plate History?
gh
Cherished Number Plate History?
Its not generally possible from DVLA

If its a cherished, try google, as it may have been shown or advertised before.

I found some J1MNY history on the net, then you can email people etc.

Go on, show off, whats the reg you have? I have my name on one car and a classic old plate on the other.

You never know, someone may recognize it, try asking the question again but put the REG in the Title!
Reply:try dvla
Reply:yes, you can - it%26#039;ll cost you 拢5.00

Reply:Erm no you can%26#039;t because the information is data protected. The fee paying enquiry will give you the vehicle history not the number plate history

When a car is totaled why don't the insurance companies use the Kelly Blue Book to figure the value?

I%26#039;m in California, I was told they use a sytstem of finding 8-10 cars with your specs (year, mileage, extras, etc..) and then average it out for the value of the car....I know the condition of the vehicle prior to the accident could come into question however this process seems to tilt toward in the insurance companies favor......thoughts?
When a car is totaled why don%26#039;t the insurance companies use the Kelly Blue Book to figure the value?
Yes... Insurance comanies want to give you as little money as possible so they will use a system where they can give you as little money as possible.
When a car is totaled why don%26#039;t the insurance companies use the Kelly Blue Book to figure the value?
Ofcourse it tilts towards the insurance companies, duuh!!
Reply:Because it is not the Blue book value they look at, it is the blackbook. The Bluebook is marked up similar to retail. Car Dealers used that as a selling tool. When buying a car or whatever, always look up the blackbook value.
Reply:thats why they are worth millions...they dont get that way by giving away money...insurance companies are run by satan.
Reply:Kelly Blue Book really isn%26#039;t that accurate. most insurance companies use www.nadaguides.com They use a book version rather than the website, because the books are more accurate. If you go to www.nadaguides.com and type in your car with all of your options, look at the average or clean retail value of the vehicle and that will give you a good idea of what the car is worth assuming that it is in average condition. If the vehicle has damage not related to the accident, then that will lower the value of the car.
Reply:There are two Kelly Blue Books.

One is the resale value of the car and the other is the wholesale value

the wholesale value is the lesser value and is what the insurance co uses when they pay you.

The Resale value is what you could expect if the car was cherry.
Reply:kellt blue books are estimates. they is so much more to factor in the equation.

how many miles, other damages and maintence to name a few.

yes any company will favor themselves in judgments. if you want to you can always fight it, but expect to lose.

insurance is mainly to protect yourself from the other person when you are at fault.
Reply:Insurance adjusters do not use the Kelly Blue Book because it only list estimated values of a vehicle. Insurance adjusters do not use the Black Book either. If they use any book at all, is is the NADA, (National Automobile Dealers Association). The NADA book gives the base value of a automobile and also includes the figures for vehicle options and how much do deduct for certain things, such as high mileage, and to add for certain things, such as alloy wheels, luggage racks, low mileage, etc. Yes, the NADA does list those little things that we don%26#039;t think about where the other books do not. Depending on how your states laws are written, Insurance companies are required by law to give you a fair value. and also required by law if the damage estimate exceeds 75% of the value, they are required to total it. Now what I just said may or may not be the case in your state, as I said, it all depends on how your state%26#039;s laws are written. I hope this helps.

What you are saying about they look at 8 - 10 cars and figure a value from those does not make sense. I have never heard of that, honestly that sounds to me like a bunch of insurance B.S. to me. I would like to advise you to contact a attorney and ask him to advise you of your rights in this matter under California law. Remember, you are one against a insurance company. Insurance companies do want to give you as little as possible for your car. Dont let them screw you over. If your car is a 07 with 8k miles, you should get a darn good settlement. Plus, it would be advisible for you to do your own research. Look up NADA on the web at NADA.com. use it to get an idea of your vehicle%26#039;s value and that way you will be armed with some information when a settlement is offered to you.

Car accident..?

I had an car accident today and the 1 of the passenger door is damaged. And the person in the car didn%26#039;t stop but went straight away.

Do you lot think that the insurance will give me money or repair the car.
Car accident..?
no you need a crime number of the police, also they may think your telling porkies, arnt you.
Car accident..?
I reckon they%26#039;d repair the car. Not entirely sure though!
Reply:You may have to pay the excess.
Reply:First you need to report the incident to the police because failing to stop after an accident is a crime.

Then you put in an insurance claim. The assessor will decide if a rpair is economical, if not the car will be written off.
Reply:They are required to give you the money if that%26#039;s what you want. It is your choice, not theirs. If you have a $500 deductible and the damage is estimated at $1,000, they will only give you $500.
Reply:if you are insured fully comp. they will pay out but you will lose your no-claims bonus . weigh up which is more cost-effective
Reply:you will need to contact the police, or rather u shouldve as soon as it happened, you shouldve got description of the other car involved even the colour. then get crime number and contact insurance company. if they write your car off it would need to be more severe damage than a door unless its an old car and it would cost more to repair than writing it off but this process takes weeks and u will get what the car is worth not what it is insured for. or u will have to pay excess and get it repaired.....

of course there may always be the thing that your in the poo and trying to get out of it????????????
Reply:hi mate glad no one got hurt get a crime number off police you may only have to pay excess good luck
Reply:did you get their details or did they literally carry on without stopping, l had a similar experience where as my daughter opened the door and took a ladies mirror off her car , it scratched all her door but did no damage to my car at all, we swapped details and l thought l was for the high jump, she never contacted me and neither did her insurance company. l think that she thought that she was to close to my car and the fault was with her. l think its a bit of a dodgy area, and to be honest l would have protested if it had gone further and she tried to blame me,as in my eyes the other driver should be ready to stop, or be at a safe distance just in case the invertible happens. good luck with your case hope everything turns out right for you
Reply:I hope you got some details of the car that hit you. You are the victim of a hit and run which is a felony crime. Anytime someone hits you and does not stop, it is their fault, no questions. I just hope you got info about the car that hit you and called the police. Your insurance should pay for the damage, but they may also try to find the person who hit you by hiring a privite investigator.
Reply:HELLO

CONTACT THE POLICE AND REPORT THE OTHER PERSON FOR FAILING TO STOP AT THE SCENE OF AN ACCIDENT AND AT THE SAME TIME GET A CRIME REPORT NUMBER

TAKE THE CAR TO AT LEAST 2 GARAGES AND GET WRITTEN QUOTES (A QUOTE CAN ONLY BE ALTERED BY UP TO 10%)

AN ESTIMATE IS NOT WORTH THE PAPER IT%26#039;S WRITTEN ON AS THEY CAN ALTER WITHOUT LIMIT

IF THE OTHER CAR IS NOT TRACED AND YOU HAVE FULL COMP INSURANCE TAKE CRIME REPORT NUMBER AND BOTH QUOTES TO YOUR INSURANCE.

IF YOU HAVE TO CLAIM ON YOUR INSURANCE THEY WILL PAY THE REPAIR BILL MINUS YOUR EXCESS

IF THE OTHER CAR IS TRACED YOU STILL NEED TO CONTACT YOUR INSURANCE COMP WHO SHOULD THEN TAKE OVER,

ONLY IF YOUR SON OPENED THE DOOR AND SHE DROVE INTO IT THEN HER INSURANCE MAY PUSH FOR TIP FOR TAP ie YOU BOTH CLAIM OFF YOUR OWN INSURANCE.

MAIN PROBLEM IS IF YOU ONLY HAVE THIRD PARTY FIRE AND THEFT AND THE OTHER PERSON CANNOT BE FOUND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CLAIM. THE SAME IF YOU END UP TIP FOR TAP

SHE WILL BE PROCECUTED BY THE POLICE FOR LEAVING THE SGCENE OF AN ACCIDENT

IF YOU HAVE DIGITAL CAMERA TAKE PHOTOS OF ALL DAMAGE FROM ALL ANGLES
Reply:I%26#039;m not an expert on this, but I would suggest you take a tour here, there are expert%26#039;s tips over there.http://car-insurance.easyideas4u.info/ca...

I ran a red light and hit some one who had no insurance and no license and i live in california. am i at fault

i have mercury insurance and i need to know whether im still liable for the accident
I ran a red light and hit some one who had no insurance and no license and i live in california. am i at fault
The fact that THEY didn%26#039;t have insurance doesn%26#039;t absolve you of your action.

As you said your at fault so you are liable. Just be happy if they just ask for car damages instead of medical too.

Good Luck....
I ran a red light and hit some one who had no insurance and no license and i live in california. am i at fault
do you know what a red light means? you ran it so yes you are at fault.
Reply:Yes it is your fault and you are liable.................UJN
Reply:your still at fault although they may not make much of an issue of it since they had no ins. or license.
Reply:what makes you think you WOULDN%26#039;T be liable for the accident? example: i don%26#039;t pay my electricity bill. my neighbor tries to patch into my electric box and steal my electricty bypassing the shut-off switch they have in place for me, as a result he gets caught. is it my fault my neighbor got caught?
Reply:My first question to you is -%26gt; Are you sure the light was red for you? Were there any witnesses? If there were no witnesses, then it%26#039;s your word against the other driver%26#039;s word. If you told your insurance company that you had a yellow or green light, then the other party might have ran the red. Being that the other party did not have insurance, your credibility would be a lot higher than him/her. Again, please think REALLY hard and try to remember if your light was really red or was green/yellow? I hope you haven%26#039;t given an official statement to your insurance company yet until you had time to clear your head and realize exactly what color your light was. Good luck!

Taxing a hire car?

Does anyone know that when you use a courtesy car and the tax runs out, is it automatically taxed by the company that has let you use the car?
Taxing a hire car?
Yes, it%26#039;s their car, they have the paperwork, they are registered keepers, they deal with it.
Taxing a hire car?
Yes it is their responsibility not yours.
Reply:yes they need to do it as they have the v5 docs.
Reply:Taxing the car is the responsibility of the hire company but, if you drive the car without an up to date tax disc you are liable to prosecution if stop by the Police because you are the one who is committing the traffic offence.
Reply:its their car and their responsibility but if the tax is out dont drive it on the road ring them up and demand a replacement vehicle immediately after all you are paying for something you cant use
Reply:Not your problem if you say you never noticed that it wasn%26#039;t taxed.

However if you know about it then the police could argue that you shouldn%26#039;t have driven it knowing that it wasn%26#039;t taxed.

Remember even if the car is taxed it is still an offence not to display the disc
Reply:im sure they would be very pleased if you offered to tax the car for them, but no!! its not your problem it theres!
