Can You Get Out Of A Car Lease For Health Reasons?

My mother is 75. She cannot drive anymore due to health reasons. My idiot brother talked her into a car lease a year ago. Since she is sick, is there anyway she can get out of this lease without paying aton in penalties?

Probably not. Looks like brother was looking for a car to drive. But unfortunately, if mom signed she will be responsible to any return penalties.

I%26#039;d go talk to the dealer and see what, if anything, they are willing to do for you under the circumstances.

You would have to look at the original lease documents but I highly doubt that there is an exit clause due to health reasons. However, all is not lost - there are websites out there that you can use that will allow other people to buy out the lease from your mother. They seem pretty legit but I personally have never use them. Try looking at www.swapalease.com and www.leasetrader.com. Good luck!
