An insurance company won%26#039;t insure an unlicensed driver.

I do not think you can get insurance if you do not have a driver%26#039;s license. Usually, if you practice driving with a permit on someone elses car (parent%26#039;s or friend%26#039;s) their insurance will cover you, but that%26#039;s not always the case. Just have them call their insurance company to make sure you will be covered before you start driving around in their car.

If your insurance company allows you to get your own coverage with just a provisional license, then I am sure you would just call them when you get your official license and they will %26quot;upgrade%26quot; your insurance. Insurance is going to be pretty expensive for a first time driver so make sure you are on your parent%26#039;s policy and they compare as many rate quotes as possible to find the cheapest one. I would avoid Nationwide and Liberty Mutual (their rates are outrageous).

It only took me 1 time to pass my driver%26#039;s test. I took driver%26#039;s ed at home and my mom taught me. I liked it much better that way.

Good Luck!
Reply:Trick question....

Car has to be Insured to get Tags/ Lic plates when you get your 1st car ....

Insurance companys are different than County Tag Tax Office

Even though Tag office doesn%26#039;t ask your age YOU have to have insurance to Register a Vehicle

Insurance companys figure anyone under 18 at 100% of Loss

So you can purchase a policy on any car or truck But the cost will be Out of this world... If you tell them YOU don%26#039;t have a drivers Licence.

Most companys will Not insure anyone under 18 without a Parent of Gaurdian as a rider on the policy OR they will put coverage on the Car with Parent or Gaurdian and the person under 18 as the rider... Cost is half of what single under 18 driver will pay.

If you are over 18 Just don%26#039;t tell them you don%26#039;t have your licence yet when you get insurance...
